The Pistons are in the Eastern Conference Finals for the 6th straight year and the Spurs have won a handful of championships this decade. Why can't a team like New Orleans, Washington, or Orlando win one? Does anybody really want to watch the Spurs play the Pistons again other than people from Detroit and San Antonio? Of course not. We have seen it.
I would love to see the Lakers play the Celtics or the Hornets play the Cavaliers. New players can emerge and be the hero for their teams. New fans can enjoy the bliss of their team winning for a change.
Now saying that, it is bound to happen soon. Players get old. It is already happening to the Suns and Mavericks. Both have recently had coaching changes and are in the mist of big personnel decisions to be made as well. How much longer are Tim Duncan, Rip Hamilton, Manu Ginobli or Chauncey Billips going to be in the league? Not much longer compared to Lebron James, Dwight Howard, and the amazing Chris Paul.
Lets hope, for the viewers sake, that the Hornets pull this game out.

Spurs and Pistons continue to prove that a single superstar cannot win an NBA Championship. THe Celtics figured it out last offseason and the Lakers figured it out in January.
Neither the Cavs, Mavs, Hornets, Raptors, or Magic have the supporting cast to go along with LBJ, Dirk, CP3, Bosh or Superman.
Each of those guys need another stud that is capable of scoring 20 on their own (think Worthy for Magic, McHale for Bird, Pippen for Jordan, Kobe for Shaq, etc. etc. etc) before they'll be able to compete.
If LBJ were to win a championship with that supporting cast, it would go down as one of the most impressive accomplishments in sports history. And while West, Chandler, and Stoyacovic are nice compliments, Paul is in the same boat. Dirk and Howard need playmakers that can create. Bosh may be in the best position with Calderon.
Phoenix missed their chance, because the Spurs are just a tick better all around. Utah has a nice, young nucleus.
I'm looking for more analysis....give me more!
