A thought on the Carolina Panthers
I love the thought of D.J. Hacket coming to the Panthers. He will take a lot of pressure off of Smith and having Moose as a 3rd receiver will make us one of the best receiving corp in the country. I hope Jarret gets his act together. He could be a great third receiver or return guy assuming he is sober. I am really excited about this upcoming year. Jake Delhomme is a great QB when healthy and I expect him to make a full recovery. We also cut many of our problem players and hopefully the new kids on the block can all contribute. What do you guys see the Panthers doing in the upcoming draft?I think we need an offensive and defensive lineman more than anything else. It may not be the sexy pick but it could help this team for a decade unlike a running back. Leave me your opinions and thoughts.

D.J. Hackett was a fine and much needed acquisiton for the Panthers. Moose is a solid possession type receiver, but the Panthers desperately needed someone opposite of Steve Smith to stretch the defense and exploit single coverage. The signing of Hackett will drastically change opponents defensive schemes of last year along with a healthy Jake Delhomme and a much more versatile offensive gameplan. I'd like to see the Panthers use their first pick on the defensive side of the ball, possibly trading up to get Ellis (USC) or Gholston (Ohio St.). They'll need a back to spell DeAngelo but rather than take Mendenhall (Illinois) or Stewart (Oregon) at 13, they could get a quality back in the later rounds. Chris Johnson would be a great pick in my opinion because the Panthers do DESPERATELY need a return man (kind of makes you miss the days of Michael Bates). However, if he's gone or they pass on him, they could get a solid back at good value in the later rounds such as Thomas Brown (Georgia) or Yvenson Bernard (Oregon St.) who are both smaller type backs but could offer a good combo with Deangelo getting 15-20 carries and the latter carrying the ball 5-10 times a game. Although we don't have an immediate need at the corner position, the team that gets its hands on Aqib Talib (CB from Kansas) will get the steal of the draft. I only got the chance to see him play a few games this year, but in one word he was "spectacular". The kid is a true playmaker and (I know it's bold) but in a couple years he will be in the Champ Bailey category when talking about lockdown corners. It should be a big draft for the Panthers and have a lot to do with their success, or lack of, for the 2008 season.
Well first of we need a new fucking coach because John Fox cant do shit i mean yeah he got us to the super bowl and shit but man he needs to go bye bye i mean i love the panthers and all but i hate when you go to a game and they loose so you go to another then they loose i mean look at last year i know we didn't have good qb's at all but i want Charlotte to have a good team this year so they need to get rid of John Fox
I am not sure Fox is the worst coach like the one comment says. But he has hit a dry spell. One more bad season and he is gone as well as Hurny.
